Message-ID: <365@aupair.cs.athabascau.ca> Date: 13 Oct 90 20:17:40 GMT Organization: Athabasca University Lines: 22 I just received my supposedly ATI VGA WONDER card to find that it was one of those ATI VGA 1024 cards with only 256K on it. I talso came with four HD disks full of drivers and some even for W 3.0 Problem: nothing but the invocation of Windows 3.0 in regular VGA mode (640x400x256 or 640x480x16) works worth a damn. The card is getting so hopelessly confused it is comical. I tried out the new Fractint program just to see what's what and in any high resolution mode the screen flickers and jumps as if I had live cell automata dancing around. I am going to put another 256K on this machine -- all the doc says is that I need to put in some 41256 chips from particular mfg. Does anyone know if ATI has fixed their drivers for 640x480x256 or 800x600x256 or even 1024x768x16 (256)????
