Unless there's something screwy about the motherboard and/or BIOS, this should not cause a problem. I've been installing 8-bit TR boards in machines ranging from an old XT clone through 386 machines for over a year and haven't had any such problems. $The reason I ask is that I am getting an error message whenever $I run the diagnostic. Since the card uses an interrupt, I am $thinking that it would cause problems. If you can tell us the error message, we may be able to offer better assistance to you. You can check the interrupt the card uses and see if it conflicts with anything else in your system; however, this is not often a problem except in machines with lots of expansion cards in them. I'd also check any memory requirements the board has. Some TR boards don't need any memory space, but many do. IBM boards, for example, have RAM and ROM to fit into the address space, and I've seen many machines in which this has conflicted with something else, typically expanded (EMS) memory. If you have EMS in your machine, make sure it isn't con- flicting with your TR board. If you still can't solve the problem, try posting again with details of your hardware configuration and the error message. -- HI ROGER |Nikebo says "Nikebo knows how to post.
