I would like to buy a used ca r >d if Possable. If by VIPER you are referring to the SCSI tape backup products made by Archive Corp, CompuAdd has them in their catalog for about $100 as I remember. A friend has told me that they're essentially Future Domain SCSI adaptors witho ut the BIOS ROM. You could probably use one of those, if available; just remove the configuration ROM and let the tape software's drivers do the work.
