I do not know what verson of diff you got but the following from a
comp.binaries.ibm.pc posting might help.

    I got several versions of gnudiff, but this is the only one so far
    which runs after decoding it.

    The submitter says:

    This is the uuencoded version of GNU diff.exe for MSDOS
    I have used LZEXE to compress the executable by about a
    third. I have removed the previous restriction on file
    size, but not yet incorporated the paged output via
    pipes. Perhaps those that want source of patches etc.
    could suggest where these should be posted.
