Gallew) Newsgroups: comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc Subject: ST01 controller question Message-ID: Date: 17 Oct 90 14:50:45 GMT Organization: Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 23 I have an ST296N SCSI disk with an ST01 controller card, and my question is: Can I daisy-chain more disks, and if so, how many? I understand that one of the advantages of the SCSI interface, aside from intelligent device use, is the ability to daisy-chain several together while only using one I/O slot. I know that on a Mac you can have up to 7. Is this true for the ST01? Do I need to specify which device it will be when ordering it (i.e. does it need a particular cable)? Can I boot off of any drive? Inquiring minds want to know. -Brian You drop the bomb -more- It goes off... -more- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am *NOT* as think as you dumb I am!! | This space for rent (241-6939) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: Even I don't agree with myself! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please send me mail before I die of confusion/loneliness. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
