And I'm posting this reply because it bounced when I mailed it. If ALL your NTX's are jamming, seems to me that the most likely culprit is the paper. In my (albeit relatively limited) experience of printers with Canon engines, they're pretty tolerant (more tolerant than most photocopiers, for example), but can take an irrational dislike to paper from particular suppliers. More rationally, they may object to paper which has been badly stored (for example in damp or very humid conditions) either before or after shipment to the user. Try getting a week's supply of paper from another source, and see what happens. Of course, it it fixes the problem, you're left with another: what the hell to do with the contents of your stationery store... As a very long shot, where are you getting your toner cartridges from? Are they refilled? Are they unbranded? Is there any correlation between jamming and the use of refilled cartridges? Most everybody on the supplier side says that refilled cartridges are a Bad Thing, and, while this may smell like a capitalist plot to sell more fresh cartridges, there may just be some truth in it. Also, if you are using refilled cartridges, are you replacing the cleaning wands every time you swap out an empty cartridge? You should be. Finally, what is the condition of your paper trays? If they have got beat up -- and this can happen in environments where those who replace the paper do it with ill grace because they feel that it really should be somebody else's responsibility -- replacing them may fix the problem. -- Dominic Dunlop
