The only HyperCard-specific virus I can recall was something called "Dukakis". It appeared around the time of the 1988 elections and was written entirely in HyperTalk. It didn't do anything particularly nasty; it just wrote "Vote for Dukakis!" or somesuch into the message box periodically [I guess it depends on your political leanings as to whether or not that's "nasty" :)] It certainly wouldn't cause HyperCard to crash. To excise this virus, open the questionable stack and type searchscript Dukakis into the message box. If you find any, delete the offending scripts. I don't think this is your problem, however. What are the specifics of your crashing problem? chaz -- Canadian Professors discover lost city of Moscow. clarson@ux.acs.umn.edu AOL:Crowbone
