We* use Pagemaker to write out a PostScript file. (Ventura would work equally well.) The PostScript is fed to an interpreter that creates a TIFF file. Our fax broadcaster likes PCX, so we run the TIFF file through another converter, then send it across a LAN to the fax broadcaster. The interpreter is GammaScript, an OEM version of UltraScript, which is a QMS/Imagen clone of PostScript. UltraScript is widely available for PCs, Ataris, etc. It has a wide variety of printer drivers. I imagine that postmaster@imagen.UUCP can give you phone numbers and/or addresses for more information. -- *I'm an editor at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
