In a LaTeX document of mine, an extra footnote rule appears at the
bottom of the page *following* a page with a footnote.  Can someone
suggest a cause and a fix?  I'm using the following style files:
12pt, fancyheadings, doublespace, cite, subfigure, trademark; the
documentstyle is report.
