I just downloaded wincomm2.zip from cica. It unzipped and installed fine, but it doesn't run at all on my system. a) Dials the modem, then immediately pops up a message saying no carrier detected. b) Anytime I the program, it takes windows down with it; a box pops up saying can't access aux. Here's my system config: Mylex 20MHz MB, 64K cache, Phoenix BIOS, 8Meg, conner 3104 100M IDE drive. Paradise 1024i card with 512K Smartmodem 2400 (pretty generic), hayes compatible, configured on com4. Win 3.0 running in debug configuration. This is a configuration with a different kernel.exe which people with SDK can setup for debugging windows programs. This is a pickier version of windows, and will try to tell you of possibly illegal code that the non-debug version sometimes accepts. I am surprized how many win apps are released that don't work under the debug config. How did the authors debug the program? Oh well. Milan .
