Thanks to all who responded. Using the great `Trial and Error' method I noticed that if I use only void quit() { xv_destroy_safe(frame); } then I do get this `Hangup' error. But if I use void quit() { if (xv_destroy_safe(frame) == XV_OK) exit(0); } I don't get this error. I am still confused but I believe that its better than using SIGHUP and then SIG_IGN.
