Message-ID: <7002@uwm.edu> Date: 16 Oct 90 13:16:01 GMT Sender: news@uwm.edu Lines: 16 Approved: tjk@csd4.csd.uwm.edu The current discussion of `scrape-flutter' raises the possibility that open-reel tape may not be a suitable medium for archiving recorded music. We've been bitten rather badly by the deterioration of tape over an extended period of time and I would like to implement a policy that will guarantee the preservation of our valuable music archives. I'd like to invite readers who have experience with this problem to share their solutions with a wider audience. Please e-mail your war stories to me and I'll summarise them. I'll post the summary back to the group when the response has died down.
