                  W. M. Keck Center for Computational Biology

                            Postdoctoral Fellowships

    Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University have been funded by
    the W. M. Keck Foundation to initiate a new research training
    program in the application of innovative computing technologies to
    biological problems.  We are establishing an integrated
    interdisciplinary program with participation of a broad spectrum of
    faculty.

    The primary training faculty include:

      o  C.T. Caskey (Baylor) - Human genome sequencing

      o  W.Chiu (Baylor) - 3-D reconstruction of macromolecular assemblies

      o  G.A. Gorry (Baylor) - Artificial intelligence

      o  K.W. Kennedy (Rice) - Parallel processing in computing

      o  G.C. King (Rice) - Macromolecular structure/dynamics and NMR

      o  C.B. Lawrence (Baylor) - Computer analysis of gene sequence data

      o  K.S. Matthews (Rice) - Gene regulation

      o  G.N. Phillips, Jr. (Rice) - Protein dynamics and X-ray crystallography

      o  F.A. Quiocho (Baylor) - Protein crystallography and 
                                 molecular recognition

    Persons with backgrounds in Computer Science, Mathematics,
    Physical, Chemical, and Biological Sciences are encouraged to
    apply.  Interested applicants should send curriculum vitae, at
    least two letters of recommendation, and a statement of their
    research interest in Computational Biology to either of the
