It does not use any protected mode software, and so is compatible with Windows 3.0. LASTBYTE requires DOS 3 or 4 and a minimum of 1Meg of physical memory. Unlike similar managers, LASTBYTE uses a "Bank-Switching" technique that makes memory "behind" ROMs and the display buffer available for data storage, such as a ram disk, emulated EMS memory, TSR markers (to facilitate TSR removal), and more. -Dan
