I am an experienced dBase III/database application programmer with C and
other (dBase IV, Clipper and FoxBase) experience, and I am looking for a
relational dbms package/program which will allow the interface of C and
true .dbf compatability with a minimal of translation.  i.e. dBase insists
that you load .exe files with the LOAD command and they cannot become an
integral part of the code.

I have heard that Clarion Professional Developer is *very good*.  Among
my questions are:  how transparent is it to/with C?  Good debugger?  Good
documentation?  Un*x too?  Please Email to hughesl@jacobs.cs.orst.edu if
