1.)Modems tend to run hot.      
2.)Cannot share modem with not pc equipment.
3.)No lights to troubleshoot with.
4.)No way to hook up a serial analyzer.
5.)Cannot be easily removed and returned after testing.
6.)You are using a bus interface rather than a choice of serial boards.
