A year ago, the City of Tempe's Water Dept. happened to dig up Sprint's/MCI's (can't remember which) main fibre optic line which runs along the Southern Pacific railway right-of-way through the southern states. Unfortunately for the Water Dept, it happens to run right through town here. I seem to remember their final tab running in the neighborhood of $300K-$400K. Don't know if this line would compare to the one in Illinois, though. Brian Crawford crawford@enuxha.eas.asu.edu
