It appears that we need to dynamically link emacs 18.55 (SunOS 4.1, Sun 4/260) in order to make something line "xon remotehost emacs&" work at all. Our investigation reveals that when you have a non-YP (internet) Onetwork name lookup service enabled, it only properly gets propogated Oto those programs which are dynamically linked, and our emacs is not.
