A week or so ago I mentioned the 286 compiler writer's guide.
I've gotten *LOTS* of email about it since.  What I have is:

Al Hartman, "iAPX286 Compiler Writer's Guide," Version 1, Intel
Corporation, May 1983.

I don't know if this (or a newer version) is still available,
but many processor manufacturers write such guides for internal
use and for use by third-party system software developers.
