The current system supports only the Western Digital WD8003E ethernet board for the IBM PC family of computers. Unfortunately, our computer systems all have a different ethernet board -- the 3COM 3C501 ethernet board, and I have been designated to solve the problem by modifying MINIX to support the 3C501 ethernet board. I was wondering if anyone has already performed or attempted such a conversion, or has any words of wisdom to share before I embark on this journey. Any words of encouragement and/or discouragement would be appreciated.
