Finaly I tried to boot on the original root-filesystem disk (write protected of course), but still got this annoying message. Is the original disk erroneous, or might it be an ordinary RTFM error? I haven't seen any postings on the subject that other disks than the boot disk was corrupted, so maybe my copy was mangled by the mail-man?
