But when I hooked it up to my PC, it didn't respond to any of the Epson control codes (condensed print, underline, etc.). It prints text fine, though. HP wants $25 for the printer manual. All I really want is a clue to how it is different from a real MX-80. Maybe a hint about what print control codes it *does* use? Or the DIP switch settings? Could I just replace the PROMs with a "Dots Perfect" upgrade and straighten the whole thing out, besides getting NLQ? Any help in putting this printer into service would be appreciated.
