We generate a lot of PS files using TeX. Problems arise sometimes the printer seems to choke and hang in the middle of documents due to lack of improper (or lack of) software handshaking which this printer seems to need. One solution is to buy a copy of Adobe's Transcript. This should provide the necessary software handshaking. Before we jump right in a buy it, we'd like to explore the option of buying a new postscript printer. Is anyone out there using a non-Apple PS printer with a UNIX machine? Have you done any TeX document printing? If so, have you had a problem with the printer hanging in the middle of documents? If possible, I would appreciate it if you could give me company names and phone numbers to call so that I could get pricing, ordering, and shipping info.
