I also ran into this trouble ... in my case I obtained pktd.sys from the .ZIP 
file on clarkson.  I have since rebuilt it from the source in the .tar.Z file 
on clarkson and now I no longer get that error message.  At the end of this 
message is the uuencoded pktd.sys that now works (for me at least).

P.S.  I am also trying to run WinQVT/net along with NFS, but WinQVT/net does 
not "see" the packet drivers.  When I posted some details on comp.windows.ms I 
received no responses ... I can post here but that newsgroup seemed more 
appropriate ...
