At Sandia we have developed a Robot Independent Programming Environment
(RIPE) which is object-oriented and implemented in C++ for Unix-based
and VxWorks-based environments.  If you are interested in obtaining
further info on this, there is a paper describing the environment in
the Proceedings 1990 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and
Automation, or I can FAX or mail you a copy of the paper.
