Surprise! Motorola recently announced the "68EC030", a 68030 minus the on-chip MMU and FPU interface. "EC", "Embedded Controller", get it? They also plan to introduce a 68040 version sans MMU (though the blurb I read wasn't clear whether the on-chip floating-point would be dropped as well).
