Message-ID: <34253@nigel.ee.udel.edu> Date: 23 Oct 90 02:16:21 GMT Sender: mmdf@ee.udel.edu Lines: 13 At the store where I (sometimes) work, we had the same question about no modem play on 688 Attack Sub. So we called EA. They gave us a song & dance about how modem play was impossible on the Amiga (and they sell POPULOUS!) and we concluded that the programmers who ported it were an ignorant bunch of f*rts. Not that it was as poorly ported as STARFLIGHT was--Micro Magic, who did the STARFLIGHT port (and also does Amiga ports for Origin--remember ULTIMA III, which didn't reset the turn # when all your guys died?), don't know (apparently) how to program on the Amiga; their games, which do work, don't multitask and use the Workbench screen to hide bitplanes they're not using. I told EA to find these guys another line of work--like Mac ports... --Rick Wrigley fhwri@conncoll.bitnet
