This is to say THANK YOU, EVERYONE who helped me with my ActivateGadget()
problem.  Thanks to a piece of code mailed to me by Michael van Elst
I have finally gotten it to work.

The hints to wait for the WINDOWACTIVE message were (and will be!) helpful.
The central problem, however, was entirely mine.  Beware, aspiring C-
programmers:  &foo  is VERY different from  foo  (It hurts to admit my
folly, but perhaps someone else will be spared the agony I went through.
And all this for 60 lines of code -- phew!)
