Message-ID: <2852@ns-mx.uiowa.edu> Date: 23 Oct 90 16:50:42 GMT Sender: news@ns-mx.uiowa.edu Lines: 22 A friend terminated a process in a not-so-standard way (I'm not sure what he did), but a file being used by the process is now locked. (It happens to be a text file, and any attempt to get at it results in 'text file busy') I've run into this problem before, and can always delete the file using 'rm -f ' (under /bin/csh). Also, I can rename the file, but it still remains locked. However, a copy of the file does not exist, so we somehow need to unlock the file, or at least be able to copy it. He was running aegis under SR10.2 if it makes a difference.
