I tried to find out how to log the incoming passwords for users 'ftp' and/or 'anonymous', which usually should be @. I did not manage that, but I found out, that creating /usr/adm/wtmp as a regular file or better as a symbolic link to /etc/wtmp will enable ftp-logging on per-user-basis (works fine on s300/HPUX6.5,too). In the first case You can use 'who /usr/adm/wtmp' to see who was on Your machine using 'ftp', in the second case simply use 'last'. I have seen this on Sun-machines before and missed it here. Maybe it is supported officialy "in the next major release" ? Back to my problem: The above works for anonymous ftp, if usr/adm/wtmp is created relatively to ~ftp, but it does not give the information I want. So is there a way to get it, and, besides, are there any HPUX-specific security objections I should know about ?
