Message-ID: <9010241749.AA25968@emunix.emich.edu> Date: 24 Oct 90 17:49:18 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Lines: 24 I'm trying to figure out who has the best 386 33Mhz cached motherboard (64K cache or so). Just has to be 33Mhz, cached, have clock/keyboard/SIMM sockets, and FAST... ser/par/IDE/etc is optional. Must be able to run a STB Powergraph and/or Diamond SpeedStar (1meg TSENG4000 video cards) at optimum speed (well over 5000 bytes/msec Vidspeed 2.2/Landmark 2.0 speed). Will also need the name/number to at least one supplier for said board. Prices, Landmark 2.0 specs, etc.. all the relavent info. A good supplier for Seiko 1450 monitors (or other top-quality 1024x768 non-interlaced SVGA monitor) would also be appreciated.. ditto for Diamond SpeedStars (unless someone knows of an even BETTER card short of a true coprocessor board. Unless those got real cheap all the sudden..) Also need a supplier for Quantum IDE hard drives.. possibly Toshiba's as well. (I'm a Quantum fan..) A friend of mine will be putting this system together.. I'll be considering upgrading my 386SX-16/20 according to his experiences (I've got a Deico motherboard.. solidly built, but not very fast. Doesn't run my STB Powergraph worth squat. My friend and I are speed freaks..) All help is appreciated... ---Brian Stretch (stretch@emunix.emich.edu)
