I wish to purchase a high performance, portable, PC. Battery operation
capability is desirable, but not essential. I would like it to
be able to connect to a VGA or better screen, when desk-bound, and
for its screen to have good quality for standalone use. It should be
Windows 3 capable and have hard disk capability (whatever current
standard is...perhaps 30M). I anticipate using it at home, at work,
and at the cottage, perhaps outside occassionally, but not under
extreme environmental conditions. My budget is around $3K, Canadian. 

I have not ruled out mail order on this, however, because of the
investment, I prefer a vendor local to Ottawa, Ontario for
support reasons.

I would appreciate any recommendations or warnings.
