I get it on an SE.  System 6.0.5.  A few inits, but nothing weird
(though someone mentioned Moire.  I don't know if that's the culprit.)

In my freezes, the mouse freezes, too.

Hmmm... I recently switched ``Set Startup...'' to MultiFinder.
