Lines: 36 My Macintosh 1024KE having grown old since its purchase in 1986, and lagging behind in software and hardware choices, I have considered to buy a new Macintosh. However, I am now left with several choices: IIcx, IIsi, IIci. I am looking to Apple Netters and other Netters to assit me in answering some big questions I have. 1) I need to have an internal hard disk, I would put it in myself (Quantum 105) as Apple charges way too much for 80s and 40s (sorry Apple, truth hurts sometimes). So the CPU would have to be purchaseable in an 'empty' configuration. Ditto for the RAM. a) Is the rumor correct that the IIsi only accepts 1/4 Height? Does Quantum make $569 105 QH drives? 2) How slow does the IIsi become when running off mother-board video? IIcx speed, or (gasp) even slower? 3) Will games break and other programs break on the IIsi, the same as they do on a IIci? 4) And seeing I will be entering college this upcoming fall and will be going into EE study, and won't be able to buy another Mac for a good 4 years, which would be the best considering both cost and upgradability/future compatibility. Thanks, ANY information and help would be greatly appreciated.
