 Just in case anyone's interested, here at the UW the price tag for the 
Mac Classic 40/2 is $1,161 (provided you buy it through the university
of course...).
 It seems as though the U of C indeed HAS decided to "gouge" its students 
and staff. It might be cheaper to tranfer to UW Madison for a semester just
so you can buy the machine...
