At my previous job we did significant research on the affect various papers had on image quality on several different inkjet printers. The results surprised me in that there were dramatic differences in perceived image quality, even to lay people brought in to assist analyzing our results. Unfortunately I can't give you the data, due to security agreements I signed, but I can tell you to experiment on your own with various papers. The results will astound you. There is even a significant difference between the "front" and "back" of the SAME sheet of paper. This may seem like old news to some folks, but it was a real surprise to me. Good luck
