It's taken me about an hour to do so. The tech notes seem to be hand-crafted in layout for US-size paper. Because we use A4 in Europe, every tech note has to be re-formatted with reduced margins, the tab stops have to be moved, the fixed page boundaries have to be removed and repositioned, and it takes a number of printings to get it right. This is all in MS Word - MacWrite chokes on the Tech Notes completely, overwriting words with each other, advancing past the end of the file, and all kinds of junk. So, PLEASE, folks, write your tech notes so that they can be printed on A4 paper as well as US. I'm sure the solid lines between sections and the flashy header look good on your paper, but not on ours (the heading degenerates into "Develop Technical Sup", and the separators look like this:) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I also don't get what I assume is supposed to be an Apple logo at the top - do I really need to have the Dingbats font (or whatever) loaded just so I can print tech notes? Anyway, I now have a reasonably readable copy of the Notification Manager tech note (from page 1 of 5 all the way to page 6 of 5). All I have to do now is reformat the remaining 200-odd... -- Nick Rothwell, Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science, Edinburgh. nick@lfcs.ed.ac.uk !mcsun!ukc!lfcs!nick ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ "Now remember - and this is most important - you must think in Russian."
