Keywords: compatible? Message-ID: Date: 18 Oct 90 16:17:27 GMT Sender: news@portia.Stanford.EDU (USENET News System) Reply-To: draphsor@portia.stanford.edu Organization: AIR, Stanford University Lines: 20 The README file on the System Tools disk version 6.0.7 says that HyperCard 1.2.5 is incompatible with system 6.0.7, and that you need to use HyperCard 2.0 if you use the new system. This sort of sucks. However, it also doesn't seem to be true. I installed the new system (on a machine that was running under 6.0.5) and Hypercard 1.2.5 ran just fine. Tested it on a stack that reads in disk directories, and that worked too. What's the scoop? Does it only not work under certain conditions? Does it work if you upgraded from 6.0.5, but not if you install 6.0.7 on a "virgin" Mac? Also, what if any is the upgrade path to HyperCard 2.0 for current users of HyperCard? Do we have to go talk to our dealers? Are they going to charge us money? Will 2.0 be available from apple.com? Thanks in advance for your help.
