View, CA (415) 960-7300 Lines: 14 I was wondering if there is a simple answer to running GNU emacs from a visible shell on a NeXT. These are the problems I encountered: 1. From the Shell application it says terminal type is not powerful enough. 2. The Terminal Application does what I want but the it scrolls too slowly and does not allow you to use a Meta key. 3. The GNU Emacs application doesn't originate from a visible shell (so when you suspend it just quits!), and it doesn't recognize environment variables setup by your .login -- Bill Vrotney
