I have a possibly related problem and would appreciate any insights. The system is a 25MHz AMI-licensed 386 with 64K cache and 4 megs; hard disk is a Conner CP-3100 with an IDE controller. Software is now 2.3.2 with SLS155b installed. The application is SwitchView, a telephone switch management program. When the failure occurs, the system's hard-disk light comes on and stays on forever. Commands received just sit there; the system appears "hung". The only recourse is a reset. I'm unable to isolate any hardware bugs or problems--the drive/controller test fine under DOS, but I have no XENIX system-test programs (does anyone?) to try. SCO is, as they say, going to get back to me. I'm quite alarmed by this and have few options to try. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Alex -- Alex Pournelle, freelance thinker Also: Workman & Associates, Data recovery for PCs, Macs, others ...elroy!grian!alex; BIX: alex; voice: (818) 791-7979 fax: (818) 794-2297 bbs: 791-1013; 8N1 24/12/3
