I think that you may not have your printer driver set up for use with
the additional fonts.  I had this problem when I installed some Bitstream
fonts on my systems.  The fonts were there, but I had to set them up for
my printer.  (The FONTS... button in the driver)  I think paintbrush just
uses bitmaps, so all fonts should be available to it without worrying
about the driver.
