I have a somewhat related problem which I am wondering if anyone have
a solution for. I have a 386 machine with a Nec Multi Graphics Engine
display board (and beta versions of there 3.0 drivers), everthing works
okay with smartdrv, but when i tried to allocate some memory (2MB out
of 8MB) to a ramdrive windows starts but when it have displayed parts
off the desktop but no icons it will crash with application error in
enhanced mode, real mode works (don't remember if standard mode worked).

If part of the problem I have to set lastdrive=F to be able to load
ramdrive since a-e already exist.

Could somebody help please?
