My experience tells me that those who read large print and try later on to learn braille are usually poor readers in both modes. However, if the prognosis for continuing vision is poor, then, by all means, braille should be offered. I wish you were right. Most of the kids we are seeing at this school are multi-handicapped blind kids, with mental deficiencies. Sure makes teaching challenging.
