I'm considering putting in a whole-house surge supressor on the
line into my breaker panel.  Would installing a lightning
arrestor across the line have the same results, or wouldn't the
response time be fast enough?  Also, if anyone has installed a
whole-house supressor I'd like some feedback as to price, brands,
performance, etc.
