Is there a shareware/PD/GNU/freeware version of the Unix 'file' utility
available for MS-DOS?  This utility should, somehow, determine the file
type (whether plain text, .com, .exe, archive, tarfile, uuencoded) of a
given file (%1) when executed (file %1).

Please mail replies as I don't get this group.  I'll summarize if anyone
else is interested.
