I need to know how to program the EGA video hardware directly. I am working on a screen blanker for Minix, and it is running in protected mode. I therefore can't use the BIOS. I can't find the information in Norton's otherwise excellent book, and my "Programmer's Guide to PC & PS/2 Video Systems" by R. Wilton has this information only for CGA and MDA. I am pretty sure that it should be possible to disable video refresh on both EGA and VGA, but I can't find the information on how to do it. (The BIOS does provide a mechanism to do this for VGA, but I can't use it.) Ken Hendrickson N8DGN/6 kjh@usc.edu ...!uunet!usc!pollux!kjh
