   Not a womb gate symbol?  The waxing crescent is the right thigh, the 
open womb is the full moon and the waning moon is the left thigh.  Yes, 
it *is* a Goddess lunar symbol, but one set of symbolic meanings does 
not exclude another, rather as I tried to illustrate, they *reinforce* 
the other(s).  Robert Graves discussed at great length the multiple 
levels of meaning in poetry and symbolism and how they *all* apply and 
intertwine.  But, what else is it?
