I only heard of perl this week,  I say a guy use perl like sed.
 I use UNIX tools like sed & awk and long for PC equivalents ( but
I am too tight to buy the excellent MKS UNIX tool kit for DOS  - 
its pricy & i don't like ksh, pref. tcsh!!).

Is perl for me? ...it sounds like it might be.  Where can I get a DOS
copy?  Any recommended texts?

If pos. please e-mail replies ... I pass this way infrequently!
