Well, since I took the time to answer your original question, I feel entitled to point out that you probably should have asked the higher-order question about how to right-justify text (or at least included some notion of what it was you were trying to accomplish), rather than just asking how to emulate the printf("%8d"). :-) Glad you got it working, though.
