Thanks to all for your timely responses. This note is just to let you know
where I am at the moment. 

First of all, our platform is a 68030 with LOTS of memory
which may or may not narrow down the field a bit. 
There are currently TWO database platforms around. I don't have particulars
on either yet. (They are forthcoming, I will post more information if 
desired when they arrive.) 

The first is called IMS and is by Clearbrook Software Group located somewhere
in Washington State (604 853 9118). Frank Hogg Labs is the distributor for 
this package. Someone at Frank's place tells me that this is a forth-generation
package that is better and cheaper than Sculptor. Anyone know anything
about this?

The second is Sculptor which seemingly will run on anything (they have
a wide variety of platforms under their belts) and can be had through 
a company called DELMAR in Middletown Delaware (302 378 2555). Delmar
has a demo package available for most PC compatible machines.

I am due to receive packages from both outfits and will forward 
details when I get'em.
